Nan is a 1984 graduate of the Wake Forest Law School where she served as an editor of the Law Review. Over the years, she has served as one of the few attorneys on the Board of Directors of the Northern Virginia Building Industry Association (NVBIA), as President (1991) of the NVBIA Arlington Chapter and as a member of the councils of the NVBIA Arlington and Alexandria chapters. Through her extensive involvement in all Arlington zoning matters including zoning ordinance, business relocation, legislative and municipal liaison committees, she has acquired a depth of knowledge about zoning which serves the firm's clients and has extended to serve clients in the City of Alexandria. Nan is also a member of the District of Columbia Bar.
