As Managing Principal-in-Residence of the firm's Prince William County office, Mike is one of Northern Virginia's most recognizable and premier land-use attorneys. For several years his principal areas of practice have been rezonings, land use, commercial real estate and business law. He is and has been at the forefront of numerous controversial and successful rezoning cases in the Counties of Prince William and Stafford. He is known not only for the substantial number of rezonings he has successfully managed but also for the size and significance of those rezonings, including several large mixed-use projects.

Mike has established an excellent rapport with local residents, the business community and public officials. Much of this compatibility he obtained through community involvement and sharing of his expertise with various professional organizations as a speaker or panel member. He is a member of several community organizations including the Potomac Hospital Board of Trustees and its Foundation Board and the Board of Directors of Cardinal Bank. Mike has also served as a former Member or Director of the Prince William County Chamber of Commerce; NationsBank, N.A. Advisory Board; The George Mason Bank Advisory Board; the Prince William Cannons; Prince William County Higher Education Committee; and the Prince William County Affordable Housing Committee.

Mike has taught real estate and business law for the Virginia Farm and Land Institute and the Northern Virginia Community College. Mike is an alumnus of both the undergraduate program at the College of William and Mary (1969) and its school of law, Marshall-Wythe (1972).
