Kim joined the firm's Loudoun County office as a Senior Land Use Planner in April 2001. She is focusing her work on land use planning and assisting the firm's clients in Loudoun County zoning and planning matters.

Before joining Walsh, Colucci, Lubeley, Emrich & Terpak, P.C., Kim was employed by McGuireWoods LLP for six and-a-half years as a Land Use Planner in the Tysons Office in McLean, Virginia. During her years at McGuireWoods LLP, she was responsible for numerous land use, zoning, and planning projects in various northern Virginia jurisdictions including Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William Counties, the Cities of Alexandria and Fairfax and the Town of Herndon. Prior to working at McGuireWoods LLP, Kim was employed for six years by Traceries, an historic preservation consulting firm specializing in architectural history. She gained extensive experience and knowledge in conducting architectural and cultural historic resources surveys in Powhatan and Stafford Counties in Virginia and neighborhood and citywide surveys in Washington, D.C.

Kim has a Bachelor of Science degree in Housing with an emphasis in Historic Preservation from the University of Minnesota and a Masters Degree in Urban and Environmental Planning from the University of Virginia. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners, American Planning Association, National Trust for Historic Preservation, the Virginia State Historical Society, and the Northern Virginia Building Industry Association.
